Bob Sumerel began with a specific idea in 1968 when he opened his first retail tire store in Cincinnati, Ohio. The original theory was to lease vacant gasoline stations in high traffic areas and refurbish them into small, attractive retail stores for supplying passenger and light truck tires. Additional services such as wheel alignment, brakes and shocks were added a short time later.

Bob's original concept proved valid from the very beginning. The convenience of being able to shop for tires in the same areas where families shopped for thier other needs was exteremely popular in the suburban life style. By 1977 Bob Sumerel Tire had seven retail locations thoughout the greater Cincinnati area. As of 2007 we operate 28 retail locations throughout metro Cincinnati and Columbus Ohio areas. We also operate 9 Commercial Truck centers throughtout Ohio and Kentucky markets along with 5 Bandag retread plants.

The name Bob Sumerel has gained a trusted reputation through offering quality products at competitive prices and backing the sale with personal attention and service. Today the retail store locations have experienced tremendous growth and are still operating under the same premise that Bob established in 1968.
